Frequently Asked Questions
*Your Activity Status
It is important that you check your profile’s “Activity Status” field every few weeks. Once a month we do a “Check & Purge” of inactive students. We check for students who have not been active in the last month, and mark them as “Idle.” Then, if they have been Idle for more than 90 DAYS, their account is marked for removal and purged from the system. This removes the student from the Moodle system as well as all their work. (This means that the student will have to submit a new application and start their work from the beginning again.) Simply logging in is not sufficient. Therefore, it is the student's responsibility to regularly check their Activity Status any time they log in, and to change the status back to "Active" if it is marked otherwise. SLBC is not responsible for deleted accounts that were regularly accessed, but the user failed to update their account status.
We need to do this “Check & Purge” because accounts that have been inactive or idle for a long time only take up space in our system and so they must be removed.
Idle Levels:
- Inactive for 30 Days — The account is marked as “Idle 30+”
- Inactive for 90 Days — The account is marked as “Pending Removal” and will be removed from the system.
If your account is ever marked as “Idle,” you can easily edit your profile (see below) and change it back to: Active. DO NOT mark it as anything else!! Changing your account to any other status, without prior permission, may cause your account to be suspended or removed!
To edit your account’s Activity Status, you need to edit the “Activity Status” field on your profile.
