Frequently Asked Questions

As always, SLBC is a tuition-free college.  However, we do have a separate Administrative Fee (currently payable here), for each of the SLBC branches (Basic, Video, Elective), and a Reduction Waiver may be requested, if financial hardship can be proven. (Basic and Video only, Moodle Elective users/students are not exempt.) Generally speaking, a student will be enrolled in only one branch at a time.

Please remember, the Admin Fee exists only to facilitate the keeping of academic records for all students seeking a degree. (Or Fill-In credits with Moodle Elective.) We encourage those students all over the world for whom it is not a burden, to pay the Admin Fee to help keep the college operating so that they themselves, as well as those who cannot afford the fee, can keep learning the Word of God through our free courses. (Free through Moodle Basic and Moodle Video branches only.) This fee will not prevent you from studying with us, but it will hinder graduation.

NOTE: Admin fees must be up-to-date (with or without a Reduction Waiver) for any official papers to be issued (such as transcripts, certificates, or degrees.)

• SLBC Moodle BASIC**
  
  POLICY 2025.01.01: (Reduced Fee Only)
  
  All students are required to pay the $15.00/month USD Administrative Fee, regardless of country of residence. An Admin Fee Reduction Waiver may be requested (reduced to $5.00/month USD), but will only be granted if the student can prove financial hardship.
  
  Moodle Access: this policy will not affect students' access to the Moodle systems; however, it will effect graduation. Students will not be allowed to graduate unless (or until) the Administrative Fee, full or reduced, is up-to-date (i.e. paid-in-full).
  
  Exceptions: Students who register after Jan 1st 2025 will be subject to this new policy. Students who have registered prior to Jan 1st 2025 will still be under the former policy. (No automatic third-world exemption, but full fee waiver.) No exceptions. If the reduced fee is still a burden, we recommend submitting a Monitoring Only form. This will waive the full fee, but will not grant any credits toward a degree. You cannot earn a degree/certificate with us under "Monitoring Only" status.
  
  
  POLICY 2017.07.01: (No Auto-Exemption)
  
  All students are required to pay the $15.00/month USD Administrative Fee, regardless of country of residence. (Third-world countries are no longer automatically exempt.) Waivers may be requested, but will only be granted if the student can prove financial hardship.
  
  Moodle Access: this policy will not affect students' access to the Moodle systems; however, it will effect graduation. Students will not be allowed to graduate unless (or until) the Administrative Fee is up-to-date (i.e. paid-in-full).
  
  Exceptions: Students who register after July 1st 2017 will be subject to this new policy, with no automatic exemptions. Students who have registered prior to July 1st 2017 will still be under the former policy. (Automatic third-world exemption, if applicable, while all other countries will need to request a waiver to be exempt.)
  
  
  POLICY 2015.01.01: (3rd World Auto-Exempt)
  
  All students, in the USA, Canada, or other first-world countries, are required to pay the $15.00/month USD Administrative Fee. (Third-world countries are automatically exempt.) Waivers may be requested, but will only be granted if the student can prove financial hardship.
  
  Moodle Access: this policy will not affect students' access to the Moodle systems; however, it will effect graduation. Students will not be allowed to graduate unless (or until) the Administrative Fee is up-to-date (i.e. paid-in-full).
  
  Exceptions: None, other than what has already been stated in this version of the policy.
  

• SLBC Moodle VIDEO**
  
  POLICY 2017.05.01:
  There is a $50.00 USD per month Administrative and Production Fee* for SLBC Moodle VIDEO.  Again, this fee is required, but a waiver may be granted if financial hardship can be proven.  A Fee Waiver Form is available so that students who cannot afford the Fee will be able to receive a waiver. Financial need must be established in order to receive a Waiver. 

• SLBC Moodle ELECTIVE
  
  Unlike our Moodle Basic and Moodle Video branches, Fee Waivers are not available for Moodle Elective.
  Our Moodle Elective branch courses are $10/credit hour, with a Administrative Fee of $10.00/course (USD), which will be required of all users regardless of what country they are from.
  
  
• FEE BACKLOG (Behind on Fees)
  
  If you are behind on late fees, there is a CATCH UP (on) BACK ADMINISTRATIVE FEES button towards the bottom of the Administrative Fees page. Reminder: being behind on fees will not hinder your ability to study, but will prevent graduation until the backlog of fees has been settled.
  
  There are also instructions there for the you to submit a  DELINQUENT ADMIN FEE NOTIFICATION form.
  
  ATTENTION: You will need your PayPal Transaction/Confirmation number (from when you submitted your payment through PayPal) for this form so we will know which fee payment is to be credited to you.
  
  PayPal is the preferred way to submit back fees.
  
  
  However, as an alternative you can send a check to:

  You will need to include a letter explaining:
  1. What the check is for.
  2. The name of the student to which the check is to be applied.
  3. The months and years of the delinquent fees being paid.
